Location: Malaga (Spain) No. of positions available: 1 Responsibilities:
  • Champion agile values and to drive the teams for continual improvement
  • Play the role of senior peer to engineers in the team, help them meet professional challenges, advise on best approaches, do 1:2:1 sessions, facilitate knowledge sharing across the
  • Lead, mentor and maintain software development teams
  • Participate in any quality assurance work required to ensure the delivered products are truly fit for the purpose
  • Deploy the developed artifacts from a Continuous Integration, Staging to Production environment
  • Ensure code quality by testing the deployable solution, working closely with the test automation person
  • Document the low-level design of the developed solution from a maintainability and supportability perspective
  • Record (and later interpret) the detail of any:
    • Changes to the detailed requirements
    • Changes to the interpretation of requirements which result in re-work within the solution
    • Information likely to impact on the ongoing evolution of the solution
  • Adhere to technical constraints laid out in the System Architecture Definition
  • Adhere to standards and best practice laid out in the Technical Implementation Standards
  • Review code and providing mentorship to other developers in agile team
  • Share knowledge with other developers (and beyond), help advance Thomas Cook technical culture through presentations and other social initiatives
Requeriments:
  • Scrum Master experience is a big plus.
  • Experience as a leader of development team with all roles in place – Developers, QAs, DevOps
  • Experience designing and building production Node.js applications
  • Knowledge of Node.js concepts – event loop, cluster, memory management, libuv etc.
  • Knowledge of major Node.js modules – async, lodash, nodemon, graphql etc.
  • Experience using Open Source libraries and doing contributions to Open Source
  • Experience with using Node.js debugging, profiling and performance measuring tools
  • Experience with any Node.js HTTP framework – express, hapie etc.
  • Experience with build tools, code coverage and testing frameworks – lab, simple-mock, Istanbul, Mocha, Grunt, Gulp, webpack etc.
  • Knowledge of building RESTful web services including GraphQL services

  • At least 2 or 3 years uninterrupted operating in a team leader capacity in a commercial environment, ideally with direct experience of the SCRUM framework and fulfilling the role of Scrum Master in a small cross functional team.
